Subbing at Lakewood Church

This weekend I was blessed once again with the opportunity to sit in with James Williams III and the horn section at Lakewood Church. I subbed for Omar who I believe was out on tour with Marcos Witt. As I mentioned on earlier posts, I always enjoy working with this band. I love their attitudes towards the music, each other and most importantly their dedication to serving God through their gifts. I look forward to getting called again in the future.

The following YouTube clip was taken from Sunday morning when I was there. So now I have the honor of being one of the trumpet players on a Lakewood Church video:

G. W. Carver High School Choir

Earlier in the week I accompanied the G. W. Carver High School Varsity Girls Choir (directed by Darryl Freeman) on a composition called Joshua. These girls had powerful voices. I can play very softly when I need to and often use that skill when I play with a choir, but this time, the girls sang so strongly that I didn’t have to play too softly. I only played on the last song so Pearl and I stayed for the entire concert, which was something of a treat for me because I hadn’t heard a full choir concert in years.
