Pearl forwarded a link to the following article a few weeks ago. I read it and replied to her saying that it sounds like the author of the paper had read my blog and was saying precisely the same things I had written not long ago. Then I checked the date on the article to find that Wetzel beat me to it by five years. 😐
Wetzel’s paper also includes an interesting story/insight about his lessons with James Olcott which I found to be very interesting.
Here is the article which also includes second trumpet parts for the Vannetelbosch book to be performed as duets:
If you don’t have the Vannetelbosch book, you can get it at SheetMusicPlus.com. You will need it if you want to use the free duet parts included in the Wetzel article.
